Carnelian Woods

Carnelian Woods is located in Placer County on the North Shore of beautiful Lake Tahoe. It is nestled among the trees and overlooks Carnelian Bay which is known for its semi-precious red and yellow stones peppering the shoreline. Homeowners consider their home in Carnelian Woods a little “slice of heaven” and enjoy the solitude, serenity, and beauty of the surrounding property. The complex backs up to the Tahoe National Forest and Tahoe Conservancy land where homeowners and guests can enjoy miles of hiking and cross-country skiing. Wildlife is abundant and lives in harmony with the homeowners. Natural trails meander throughout the well maintained forest and rock outcroppings on the property. Homeowners and guests have access to all amenities including the lodge and recreation center, tennis courts, a resort size swimming pool, and even a parcourse trail. The crystal clear blue water of Lake Tahoe is just a short trip by foot or car.

The Association’s dedication to responsible forest management was recognized in 2018 with the Firewise designation, the first for an HOA in the Tahoe basin. The Association annually commits to reducing the risk of wildfire on the 88 acre parcel. In 2023, in conjunction with Tahoe Conservancy, wildfire fuel mitigation was performed on the majority of the property, returning the density of the forest to a more natural state before the use of prior fire suppression and  forest management practices.

Carnelian Woods  is a California non-profit mutual benefit corporation and was formed on December 15, 1971. The Association is composed of homeowners in the complex. It is through the professional management and the care and concern of all the homeowners that make Carnelian Woods one of the most desirable townhouse units in all of Lake Tahoe.
